About Askpywel
A side project by a Blizzard veteran.
Crimson Desert launched and normally I would just dive right in. But this time I decided to spend the first three days building a guide bot instead of playing it. Crazy, I know. The game was out, the wiki was thin, Reddit was a mix of hype posts and unanswered questions, and I figured someone should do something about that.
Pywel, by the way, is the name of the game world. It felt right to name it after the place we're all trying to navigate.
The bot reads from the wiki, patch notes, Reddit threads, Steam guides, community sites and Pearl Abyss official pages — then uses AI to answer your question directly, in plain language, without making things up. It updates automatically so the knowledge base stays current as the game evolves.
This is a side project — built for fun, run at personal cost, and genuinely useful (I'm now using it myself as I play through for the first time). If you hit a question it can't answer well, that's real feedback — the knowledge base gets better as the community grows.
Answers may occasionally be incomplete — the game is still new and the knowledge base grows as more community content is published. It updates automatically, so recent patch notes and findings get picked up within 24 hours.
Server costs and AI API usage come out of pocket. If the Tactician saved you some time, a coffee goes a long way toward keeping the scrolls updated.
